The mission - Implement image galleries on the static site. Preferences - Auto generate thumbs and gallery from a designated directory. Open source code.

Automatically Generate gallery from a directory of images
Cons - Requires manual creation of thumbnails.
The ultimate goal would be to generate slides and thumbnails from a directory, but that immediately gets more complicated.... maybe next week. Next - try the open source Slideshow 2 from Google.

Slideshow

Slideshow uses open source code and is very widely used. To get this working the way I wanted I had to tweak the java code and style sheets a little, but that's par for the course. It seems to be a very flexible engine. Here is a demo by the author: www.electricprism.com/aeron/slideshow/

Created these galleries: These galleries each contain 50 images, yet they load quickly. I have set the slide show to randomly display the images. Put your mouse over the image to see the control panel.
